Hey guys this was passed along on Twitter and on Gaga's fansite
Today, the Lady GaGa fan community received some shocking and horrifying news. One of our own, a little monster, named Ricky Cortei, died today. His death was due to abuse and bullying over his sexuality. He was 15 years old.
From his personal twitter @rickyluvsgaga, as updated by his family:
Today at 5:53 PM Richard Leon Cortei passed away. His passing was due to prejudice in today’s country. Please keep him in your prayers.
As a fan base that is made up of a mixture gay, lesbian, straight, bisexual, and transgendered fans, we are heartbroken. We are united in the belief that no matter who you are, no matter what you look like or believe in, you deserve to be loved and respected like everybody else on this planet.
In a society where sexuality has taken a place on the forefront of major worldwide issues, we cannot believe that such prejudice and hate is still going on. We are shocked. The GaGa community is shocked. We are united in our grief and we show nothing but love and support to his family and friends.
Rest in Peace Ricky, we love you.
It is wrong to hate, but never wrong to love.
If you could, please, leave a message of support and love in the comments to this post. We will forward it to his family to show them that we love Ricky for being himself and for not being afraid to live his life the way he chose.
This is why I get really mad with kids and I get in fights.... If we could get rid of bullying and prejudice the world would be a better place
